Our hiring partner is a consulting firm in Ontraio and is seeking to offer an opportunity for a health & safety project coordinator to join their dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in Markham, Ontario.

Job Title : Health & Safety Project Coordinator

Role Summary:

In this position, direct client interaction and management are integral. Reporting to the Project Advisor/Project Manager, the health & safety project Coordinator is entrusted with delivering comprehensive support across various Occupational Health and Safety initiatives and programs, demonstrating a high-level understanding of Occupational Health and Safety, as well as program and client management.

This role is an entry-level and will provide an opportunity to develop a high level of understanding in Occupational Health and Safety, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams to achieve successful project outcomes

Primary Duties & Responsibilities Specific duties and responsibilities include :

• Engage directly with clients, understanding their OH&S needs, and providing tailored solutions
• Draft OH&S deliverables such as Job Hazard Analysis, Health and Safety Manuals, Practices and Procedures, Employee Safety Handbooks, Risk Assessments, etc.
• Implement operational plans to achieve business objectives, incorporating effective risk management strategies
• Initiate and develop a comprehensive delivery plan for the assigned number of clients
• Generate and analyze variance reports for assigned clients, ensuring alignment with project goals
• Support the implementation of escalation procedures to address project challenges and issues promptly
• Attend periodic meetings with clients (weekly, monthly, etc.) and provide detailed follow-up notes.
• Collaborate internally within the organization to leverage implementation capabilities and streamline processes
• Stay abreast of industry developments by actively participating in industry events, engaging with trade associations, and maintaining close liaisons with stakeholders, suppliers, and customers
• Contribute to the development of new OH&S product and service offerings for clients, ensuring alignment with industry best practices
• And more relevant duties as needed

To be considered for this role, the “ Health & Safety Project Coordinator” must have the following qualifications:

• Valid Driving Licence
• Bachelor’s degree, Master's Degree, or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, Public Health, or Human Resources.
• Proactive self-starter with robust organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in collaborating with different levels of management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead effective meetings.
• Proven problem-solving capabilities.
• Working knowledge of provincial health and safety laws and regulations.
• Strong project management skills.
• Proficiency in using office-related software, such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
