Job Description

Description:

Precision Security Team is a veteran-owned and operated company proudly serving northern Colorado and surrounding areas. Since our establishment in 2018, we have experienced remarkable growth, earning the trust of local government agencies, schools, critical infrastructure sites, event organizers, and more. Based in the region stretching from Denver, CO, to Cheyenne, WY, we are committed to excellence in security services.

We take pride in hiring veterans, former law enforcement personnel, and first responders and strongly encourage individuals with such backgrounds to apply. However, we are equally committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. Precision Security Team is an equal-opportunity employer, and all candidates are evaluated based on their qualifications, without discrimination or bias.

As an Armed Security Officer at Precision Security Team, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for the public at your assigned location. Your responsibilities will include addressing security concerns and handling requests as needed to ensure the safety and satisfaction of clients and the community.

Every Security Officer at Precision Security Team is entrusted with delivering an exceptional experience for our clients while safeguarding their interests. It is essential to uphold the company’s professional image at all times—whether interacting with clients, the public, or law enforcement.

As a member of our team, you are expected to embody and demonstrate Precision Security Team’s core values and code of conduct in all aspects of your work.

There are three schedules available for this position:

  • 10:30 pm-6:30 am Monday-Wednesday for a total of 24 hours per week with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts
  • 7:00 pm-3:00 am Thursday through Monday for a total of 40 hours.
  • 7:00 pm-3:00 am Tuesday through Friday for a total of 32 hours with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts.

Please do not apply if one of these shifts does not work with your availability.

Candidates with prior military or law enforcement experience are preferred.

Critical Roles of the Position:

Professional Firearms Proficiency: Must be qualified to carry a firearm for professional security purposes, maintaining a strong understanding of safe handling, usage, and legal requirements.

Report Writing Expertise: Demonstrated ability to create clear, concise, and accurate professional reports, including incident and after-action reports, adhering to proper documentation standards.

Technological Competency: Proficient with computer systems and software, including report management tools, email communication, and basic office applications.

Adaptability to Varied Shifts: Comfortable working night and swing shifts, with the flexibility to adjust to operational needs and varying schedules.

De-Escalation Expertise: Skilled in de-escalation techniques, particularly for situations involving displaced individuals, mental health crises, or challenging corrections-related encounters.

Effective Team Communication: Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members, relay critical information, and maintain seamless operational collaboration.

Respond to Alarm Activations: Quickly and effectively respond to alarm calls, investigating the cause, assessing potential threats, and taking appropriate action to resolve the situation or escalate it to the proper authorities.

Precision Security Team or the client can assign other duties to you as necessary at any time.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Possess a current valid driver's license.
  • Clean driving record with no major driving infractions within the past 5 years, and no more than 3 minor driving infractions within the past 3 years.
  • Ability to obey all traffic law, signs, and regulations at all times, especially when driving a company vehicle.

Company Core Values:

  • Integrity: In all we do, at every level.
  • Commitment: To our team, our clients, our community.
  • Development: Professionally, personally, collectively; always improving.

Key Competencies:

  • positive attitude
  • time management
  • situational awareness
  • professional demeanor
  • de-escalation and conflict management skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • confidence working solitary and with a team
  • proficiency with smart phones and online scheduling software
  • physical ability to perform work related tasks
  • ability to use proper English and grammar when filling out reports and other required paperwork

Pay: This W2 position pays $24.15/hour. Employees who work 30 or more hours a week are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, accident, and hospital indemnity insurance. Colorado offers additional benefits to all employees, including paid sick leave, the Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program, which provides paid leave, and a secure savings option through a Roth IRA program.

Hiring Process: Assessments will be scored based on answering the question, and proper use of grammar and written communication. Please do not write "see resume" or "can be discussed during the interview" as your answer. We are looking for answers with specific examples and/or thorough, multiple sentence answers to the questions.

Our hiring process begins with a thorough review of resumes to identify candidates who align well with our company’s needs. If your resume stands out, you will receive a call for an initial phone screen. Following a successful phone screen, we will invite you to an in-person interview with the hiring manager and other relevant management team members.

During the interview, we ask that you use the S.T.A.R. technique. The STAR technique is a structured method used to answer behavioral interview questions by clearly outlining a Situation, Task, Action, and Result. This approach helps candidates provide comprehensive and well-organized responses that showcase their skills and experiences effectively, and helps candidates provide answers that are coherent, concise, and impactful, making it easier for interviewers to assess their competencies and fit for the role. Should you advance past this stage, a job offer will be extended to you. After the offer is accepted, we conduct a background check and proceed with online onboarding.

We will carefully review your application and contact you if we believe you are a strong match for the position. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we kindly ask that you do not call to inquire about your application status. Please note that failure to follow this instruction may result in your application being disqualified, as it demonstrates an inability to follow directions.

To ensure full consideration, applications must be submitted by May 30, 2025.

PST adheres to a hands-off approach whenever possible, prioritizing verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques. The only instance where physical intervention is appropriate is if an individual poses an immediate physical threat to themselves, others, or you. Acceptable physical intervention techniques will be taught during our mandatory Phase I training.

Employment with Precision Security Team is "at-will," meaning that either the employee or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice, as permitted by Colorado law. This at-will employment relationship cannot be altered or modified except by a written agreement signed by both the employee and an authorized representative of the company.

All knowledge about a site's staff, customers, products, events, procedures, facilities, etc. must remain confidential. Any improper public or personal disclosure will result in discipline up to and including termination.
